About Me.
Diana Martin is a recent graduate from the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program at Austin Community College earning her Level 1: GIS certificate. (2012)
She earned her bachelors degree in Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and after spending some time in the Florida and Maryland workforce she decided to go back to school to learn GIS. She was fortunate to have been exposed to Geographic Information Systems early on when she interned as an environmental research associate at UNLV. It was recommended that she explore GIS in more depth, but was hesitant in doing so. Diana's interest in GIS piqued when she discovered its many utilities and applications in other fields. She had been working in a plethora of different areas and always welcomed the opportunity to try new things. She decided that her analytical skills, creativity and comfort with computer programs worked hand-in-hand with GIS software and chose to pursue it. By learning GIS she hopes to open more doors in her future and find an area of study that she enjoys as a life long career. Get in touch with me. |
