TxDOT hired my current supervisor mid year and it's been a great experience working with him. He is very knowledgeable and I have learned different tips and tricks GIS. Besides that, the GIS women's organization I am involved had gone through elections and guess what...? I'm the new president of SWIGGIS (Supporting Women in Geography & GIS)! Pretty exciting and scary at the same time. I hope I can serve out a great term (2 years).
Also..toward the end of the year I was approached by my former professor, Mr. Sean Moran, to sent in my Food Mile map to this organization that was collecting "food" themed map visualizations. I sent it in and they said they liked my map and that I would need to reformat it to their require size. Boy..that was a difficult task. I hadn't worked on the Food Mile project close to a year and the data and everything was organized very poorly. (Must give me a break, it was my first big project as a student) I spent about 2 weeks reformatting it and finally thanks to Sean Moran, Patty Moran and his mother Nancy Christian for helping me get to the end. In all, I'm getting published! It will be available beginning of February. Keep you posted.
